I recently stayed at Hostal Compass Del Sur for a few days and had a wonderful experience. The staff, especially Mauro and his wife, were incredibly attentive and helpful, going above and beyond to assist with our travel plans. The location was perfect, allowing for easy walks to explore the city while also providing a peaceful atmosphere with the sound of nearby birds. The breakfast was delicious, with individual servings of bread, jam, cheese, and ham. The staff spoke multiple languages, making communication seamless. it was the best option for a relaxing stay in Puerto Varas.

The house has lots of character with beautiful wooden floors and high ceilings. A good option to stay if you want to take a refreshing swim in crystal clear waters. The dining room provides a relaxing atmosphere with an internet corner.

Convenient location 🌟 - This place is quite clean and offers good value for the money. It's located right by the bus stop and the town center, which makes it super convenient. The rooms have shared bathrooms, but overall it's a great spot in a marvelous location.

It was a bit difficult to check in outside of the designated check-in time, which was a bit inconvenient for early arrivals. it would have been great if the dorm rooms provided locks or offered the option to rent locks for the room lockers, providing extra security for belongings.

The Hostal Compass Del Sur provided the perfect base for exploring the stunning Volcano Osorno and the surrounding rainforest. The ski center offered breathtaking views of the 3rd largest lake in South America, the Llanquihue Lake. We also enjoyed short trails that allowed us to discover new types of trees and native plants. The clean and transparent water of the lake was an inviting option for swimming. The 24-hour front desk was incredibly helpful in arranging tours and activities, making our stay even more enjoyable.

My children wished there were more activities specifically tailored to families.

I had a fantastic stay at a charming hostel just outside the city center. The warm and welcoming atmosphere made me feel right at home. The cozy common areas and spacious rooms were a dream. The hostel had a well-equipped kitchen and the wood stoves added a cozy touch during the cooler fall season. The best part was the down quilt on the bed with nice linens, ensuring a comfortable and relaxing sleep. I highly recommend this place for anyone traveling in the area!

The value for money at this hostel was excellent, and the room was clean and comfortable. The location was perfect, with downtown and the bus station nearby, supermarkets and cafes within walking distance, and beautiful lakeside restaurants just a few blocks away. The location of the hostel is perfect, in a quiet street very close to downtown, with the rural bus station close by. The rooms are comfortable and the bathrooms are clean. The staff is friendly and helpful, making you feel welcome. The common area is relaxing and there are additional services available such as laundry and printing documents.

The noise from other rooms can be an issue for those seeking uninterrupted sleep.

One minor downside was the internet connection, which was difficult to connect to upstairs and required a power cycle every now and then. it would have been nice if locks or the option to rent locks for the room lockers were provided for guests staying in the dorms.

Noisy hostel, especially at night and in the morning due to squeaky wooden floors. Room located at the top of the first staircase, which resulted in a lot of noise from above and people going up and down the stairs.
